Who we are

ActionAid Liberia (AAL) is a country program and part of the ActionAid Global Federation, a unique partnership of people, organizations and social movements in Liberia working to achieve economic, social and climate justice, gender equality and poverty eradication. Throughout the world, ActionAid works to strengthen the capacity and active agency of people living in poverty and exclusion, especially women, to assert their rights.

In alignment with the Global Federation’s strategic framework ll, AAL’s commitment to support a feminist, just, and green transition will reinforce priorities on economic Justice. Challenging neoliberalism and its associated austerity, privatization, exploitation   and denial of unpaid care work and planetary limits; system change for Clime Justice: challenging big corporations and rich countries that have acerated the Climate crisis, movement building to address injustice and strengthening resilience of affected communities while leading loss and damage. We will also commit to AAI Humanitarian and Resilience shifting power to affected communities, Women and Youth Humanitarian Networks for a people centered humanitarian response.

Global Platform Liberia

Global Platform Liberia was launched in 2020 to enhance co-creation and knowledge sharing among young people in Liberia. The platform has since engaged young people directly through its training and hub activities while transforming youth-led organizations into a more forward-thinking establishments. GP Liberia’s head office is in Gbarnga, Bong County; space with the youth office at AA Liberia headquarters in Montserrado County; and two satellite platform structures in Gbarpolu and Grand Gedeh.

To achieve social justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication by working with people living in poverty and exclusion, their communities, people’s organizations, activists, social movements and supporters.
